NewsStand Partners with NewsBank to Distribute Newspapers' Digital Editions
Distribution Program Meets Library Market's Demand for Online Access to Digital Reproductions of Newspapers

AUSTIN, TX - August 3, 2005 - NewsStand, Inc., the international leader in digital distribution of newspapers and magazines, announced today that it has entered a distribution partnership with NewsBank, Inc., one of the world's premier information providers. Through a joint distribution program that utilizes NewsStand's eEdition Delivery Manager, NewsBank customers in the library market will be offered online access to exact digital reproductions of current and archived print newspaper issues. In addition to satisfying the needs of library staff and patrons, this distribution partnership enables publishers to increase the audited circulation and awareness of their editions.

Digital editions are available at the same time as daily print editions, if not earlier. They are the exact replica of the print editions, featuring full-color layouts with advertisements, photos and graphics. A Web-based format called iBrowse® enables users to intuitively read articles, navigate between sections, print pages and search the full text.

"We are delighted to offer this tool to those researching a variety of subjects," commented Kit Webster, NewsStand's president and chief executive officer. "Now, library staff and patrons can easily read and navigate the exact replica of the printed newspaper edition, as well as access the full text. NewsBank's customer list is impressive, and we believe our joint offering will be received with enthusiasm by both current and new users of NewsBank's products."

NewsBank President Dan Jones added, "NewsBank is pleased to partner with NewsStand in this program as part of an ongoing strategy to meet our customers' needs for news content. Libraries will receive timely delivery of daily newspapers' digital editions from around the world. Digital editions are a significant complement to NewsBank's full-text databases of newspapers and other publications."
